1. Resight Vision Foundation
We have always upheld our social commitments and has invested extensively in charitable causes like free medical care to poor patients, We have done approximately 30000 free cataract surgeries in the last 5 years with free food for ward indoor patients free stay for outdoor patients and their attendants. RVF envisages building a sustainable model to prevent avoidable and curable blindness, there by reducing poverty and suffering due to eye ailments in North Punjab, and making eyesight a fundamental right for everyone.
The Foundation is born in April, 2018 in recognition of the need to make affordable eye care accessible to people from underprivileged and marginalized sections of the society. RVF is the only non-profit organization addresses the eye care needs of the rural and urban community of most backward districts in Punjab, namely Hoshiarpur &Kapurthala Dist. Apart from Cataract [SICS/Phaco], RVF has been providing medical and surgical services such as DCR, TRAB and Pterygium, Diabetic Retinopathy, Vitreo-retinal surgical services and Cornea and services through the community eye camps. The impact on the target community has been overwhelming.
Weekly eye camps are conducted in rural and semi urban areas in North Punjab, with teams of Ophthalmologists and optometrists screening for major eye diseases. Patients requiring surgical care were escorted to Arora Eye Hospital & Retina in Jalandhar while patients with minor refractive issues were referred to local eye care providers.
Since inception, our hospital has had, more than 1,00,000 patients have been examined in eye camps and 30,000+ cataract surgeries have been done from to help them resume life of dignity and personal freedom. RVF and AEH aim to further its standing as a tertiary eye care institute known for distinction in the treatment of major eye diseases, professional training and research work in the field of ophthalmology.

How to Support an Eye Camp?
Who can be a community partner (Sponsor) to conduct a camp?
Any individual or voluntary social service organization – such as Lions, Rotary, religious groups, industries, trusts, banks, hospitals, community based NGOs, recreation and welfare clubs, farmers associations, village presidents – interested in the community welfare may sponsor an eye camp in terms of partnering with service providers. Resight Vision Foundation expects the sponsors who are self motivated aiming to serve the community.
Sponsors’ role
The sponsors have the primary role of setting up campsite preferably a school venue with the necessary support facilities viz. furniture, electricity, water etc. and also to care of the publicity needs. They are responsible advertisement, for assembling patients and providing lodging and food for the medical team.
How to select an ideal place for a camp?
A village with a population of five to ten thousand including the surrounding areas in an accessible radius of 5 Kms is selected for conducting an eye camp. A convenient venue (such as a large school building,room in the area) and a suitable date (which does not interfere with local festivals, marriages and other functions or with other camps) will be selected for conducting the camp. The village should have good access to the nearby villages to benefit the patients around the main village.
The sponsors are supposed to:
- Delegate a separate team of members and volunteers to look after the community mobilization
- Arrange boarding and lodging for the medical team if the location is beyond 125km from the base hospital
- Arrange local transport facility for patients between the villages and the site of the camp, if the camp venue is not accessible within a radius of 5 to 10 Kms.
- Plan for manpower and finance to prepare the camp venue and conduct widespread publicity through all possible media. The camp organizer from Resight Vision Foundation works along with sponsor for effective execution of promotional activities
